Setting achievable short- and long-term goals for your health is an effective way to achieve the changes you want and increase motivation to help you do so. In today’s episode we discuss the SMART goal setting acronym which will help change behaviours into healthy habits.

Make SMART goals – specific, measurable, achievable, realistic and timely

Make short term AND long-term goals – achieving lots of smaller goals instead of one larger end goal can be a lot more motivational

Understand that weight loss rates vary for every single person – your age, height, gender, muscle mass, physical activity levels and diet history all play a huge role in determining your rate of weight loss.

Don’t get down on yourself if you didn’t achieve your desired end goal – instead think about all of the positive changes you have made on your journey getting to where you are now! "
